North Carolina

The NC team has a river continuum approach, with three sites along the Eno River (a tributary of the Neuse River) and three sites along New Hope Creek (a tributary to the Haw River)

The Florida sites span a river network (the Santa Fe River, a tributary of the Suwannee River) and a wide gradient in dissolved organic matter from clear springs to darkly stained.  The core site moves between these two water clarity end-members as a function of flow.
